Australia’s Vocational Education and Training (VET) system needs reform. The Australian Government is overhauling the skills and training system, with a package of reforms that elevate trades and vocational education to the centre of Australia’s economy and puts the focus squarely on ensuring Australian workers are highly skilled and job-ready.

The six objectives for VET reform
The Council of Australian Governments’ Industry and Skills Council has agreed to six objectives for the VET system. The objectives will shape VET reform to support the current and future skills needs of Australian businesses.
